Aromatherapy uses pure essential oils which are usually rubbed into the skin through massage, this has both a psychological and physiological effect as the essential oils have a strong aroma and they are also absorbed into the bloodstream.

There are other methods that are not used as a massage but can be used as vaporizers, bath essence, and steam inhalation as its the essential oils that are the important part of this therapy.

Do It Yourself!
I love Aromatherapy as its one of the holistic treatments you can do yourself, you don't have to pay an aromatherapist to do it for you and its so easy to do and you don't need any expensive equipment, just a few essential oils. It is so easy to learn, you don't need a diploma in massage either.

When treating myself I just look up which essential oils I should use, select those from the collection I have build up over time, mix the required amount of oils with a base oil and rub it into the skin. Its as simple as that and it works!

Tried and Tested
I think this has to be my favourite therapy! I have had so many massage treatments with essential oils because my best friend is an Aromatherapist and we often used to do treatments on each other to de-stress ourselves, feeling the benefit of someone else's healing hands! But since I have moved miles away we can't do this anymore which is sad. But I love Aromatherapy it is so relaxing and revitalising.
